Services
Private Lessons
For more individualized training and attention, I offer private lessons for $85 an hour. I will either come to you or meet in a public area for ONE HOUR per lesson.
During these lessons we can work on just about everything! From basic obedience, off leash obedience, and home manners!
These personalized lessons are also great for behavior modification, specialized training cases, and in public sessions!
Day Train
I will come to your house while you are at work or out of town and I will train your dog 2-3 times that day! During these lessons, I will work with your pup towards our goals and communicate with you via video on the steps we took at the end of the day!
(You will not be present during these session!)
This option would be great for E-collar work or families with busy schedules!
After 3 Day Trains we will set up a time for your FREE Private lesson to ensure things are going well for you and to make sure you're doing things properly!

Board & train
Your pup will stay at my house where I will work on all of the goals we set. This could be basic obedience, home manners, behavior modifications, off leash e-collar, and anything in-between!
Weekly updates will be provided with pictures and videos of their progress! This will include a FREE 1:1 go home lesson and a FREE 1:1 private lesson two weeks after pick up.
Proof of vaccinations, a crate, treats, and food for the whole stay are required.
Puppy Program for dogs six months and younger!
Basic Obedience Program for dogs older than six months!
Advanced Obedience Program for dogs who have completed basic obedience training with me and want to continue to advance to off leash obedience.
Behavior Modification Program for dogs of any age who need a specialized program!
*This program will focus more on behaviors such as (but do not only include), leash reactivity, human or dog reactivity, and or confidence building.
**Additional charges will apply for all programs, EXCEPT the Puppy Program, for dogs who are not crate trained and or potty trained.
AKC Trick training, canine good citizen, & akc fit dog
Do you have a dog registered with AKC through your breeder, PAL, or Canine Partners? They can earn titles & certificates like Canine Good Citizen, CGC Urban, Trick Dog Novice-Advanced, and S.T.A.R. Puppy! All of these reflect positively on your dog and help set them up for success, plus you get a certificate and ribbon!
Meet the Owner
My name is Sydnie Hyde and I am the owner and trainer of The Golden Academy! My passion in training started when I got my golden retriever, Bumper in 2020. I worked at a facility for four years, where I started my journey in boarding until I transitioned to daycare, and lastly the training department. I began working with strictly puppies for one year and watched my passion grow. When I left the facility I started training on my own helping friends and family with their dogs. From there, In 2022, I went to get my training and behavioral specialist certification at Starmark Academy in Texas! While I was there I worked with rescue dogs and grew my knowledge to better work with your pets! Today I am following my dream of having a dog training business of my own! I started this business in 2023 and was able to help over 250 families in just one year!

River is your typical high energy and anxiety pointer! He loves doing anything that involves lots of mental stimulation such as; performing high level tricks, off leash obedience, and hunting! River is always ready for a new task to keep him busy! He has the best trick out of the bunch, which is jumping off the wall!

Bumper is my go- to boy for anything and everything! He is CGC and Therapy certified through TDI, along with having two trick titles! Bumper is the perfect mix of every quality you'd want in a dog. You will often times see Bumper out in public showing off his tricks or being my demo dog!

Moss is the youngest in my crew. He is the definition of “little brother” and is constantly goofing off. He is currently soaking up all the knowledge in preparation to grow up to be my most versatile pup.
In memory of Mr. Thick
Who is Thick?
He started as my assigned rescue dog in dog training school. He came with a laundry list of issues; human and dog reactivity, barrier frustration, leash redirection, and did not like his feet being touched. I quickly fell in love with him and adopted him as quick as I could. He is still to this day the hardest dog I’ve ever trained.
What happened?
Unfortunately, at the end of April 2024, Thick had 2 seizures. After his second seizure his body and brain chemistry shifted. After some vet visits, it was determined that he suffered a brain tumor causing the shift in behavior. We ultimately had to make the decision to put him down for his own well being and the safety of our home.
Because of the type of dog Thick was, you will often hear me still talk about him and use my past experience with him to continue to help others with the same issues.
